I thought it would be helpful to set up some realistic goals for myself this year in terms of writing.

When I was doing some research on fiction novels I believe it was an average of 80-100k words for your first, between 50-60 scenes. Currently I have about 8,000 words floating around, though a lot of it is brain dump and exploration rather than true excerpts. I have a pretty solid 3 Act structure layout, so my next task is to write a point form of each thing that happens, and figure out my 50-60 scenes!

I think realistically by the end of the year I should be well into editing at least a second or final draft.

My big timeline for 2024:

• Complete point form & scene list by February 29th, 2024.
• Complete first draft by September 30th, 2024
• Editing Completed December 31st, 2024.

I hope this is reasonable. A lot of the brain work has happened and I need to work on the pieces in between that connect the main scenes.
